Bonuses and Rewards

Many online casinos offer bonuses and rewards for just signing up to play at their casino. However, some rewards may seem too good to be true and may, in fact, be a great warning sign that the casino a player is interested in is less than honest. Here are a few things to look for when considering bonuses and rewards at honest casinos.

Deposit Bonuses

Deposit bonuses are one of the most common ways online casinos reward their customers. When players use certain deposit methods or deposit some minimum amount, a casino may offer to match that deposit with free credits, sometimes doubling a player's available funds. A standard deposit bonus will usually range from 1-2.5x the amount a customer deposits. If the bonus is significantly more than that or simply extends credits without requiring any deposit from the customer first, it may be a sign that the casino is trying to lure in customers. They will usually ask for credit card information later.

Other Bonuses

Other bonuses may take the form of sticky or non-cashable loyalty bonuses. Many casinos reward customers with loyalty bonuses, either for recommending new players, sticking around for a long period of time, or for wagering a certain amount of money within a given period of time. Several of these bonuses are sticky bonuses, meaning that they cannot be withdrawn as cash immediately after they are deposited. Instead, players can only use these to play more games in the casino. An honest casino will then let players take any rewards or cash won using those credits, while dishonest ones will insist that any winnings are the property of the casino.

Basically a great way to tell an honest from a dishonest casino is to see how they let players enjoy their bonuses. If winnings can be withdrawn, then the casino is on the up and up. If not, there may be something untoward going on.
